Rate hikes by RG&E and NYSEG,
will increase your monthly utility bill

The citizens of Rochester may be facing an increase in utility rates beginning this winter.   RG&E has proposed a $50 million increase on its annual rates, while New York State Electric and Gas Corp. (NYSEG) purposed a $123 million increase.  This roughly works out to adding an additional $14.00 to every customer’s monthly utility bill.

Up to $50,000 tax credits for older home renovations

New legislation offers tax credits to New York State residents with eligible historic homes that need energy renovations.  Homeowners could receive up to $50,000 for one residence.  Much of the homes in Rochester would qualify for this tax credit.
